FRAMES
What can I say about frames? There are so many that a book is printed every 3 months to list all the new styles. The main thing with frames is the material they are made from, quality, eye size, bridge size, temple size, and color.
Frame Material
There are two common types of frame material. Plastic, which can be a variety of different plastic materials or Metal, which again can be different types of metal. Common are stainless steel for metal and zyl for plastic. Titanium and Titanium flex materials are some of the latest in long lasting and durability.
Frame Quality
As some cars are not equal in quality, So are some frames not equal. Different manufactures use different methods of plastic molding and assembly parts. Spring hinges, nose pads, hinges, and ear pieces, can be greatly different in performance from one brand to another,
Lens size, lens shape, temple size, and bridge size are all important to consider when getting new frames. Lens sizes and shapes are the best way to begin looking. Hint: The smaller the lens size, the thinner your lenses will be on the edges. Next is the bridge of your nose...must metal frames have adjustable nose pads, where as plastic is not. So be careful when picking out plastic frames. Temple sizes can most often be adjusted to your needs. Longer temples are available for many frames.
There are to many colors to list and most have such strange names you can't tell what they mean! When picking your color a few things to consider are what do you want your glasses for? Do want them to be very visible for fashion, or to blend in and not be noticeable? To blend in, stay with natural browns and grays. To allow your glasses to stand out more, get the brighter colors and odd shapes.
